PCA 2020 National Specialty Rescheduled!

The Puli Club of America is pleased to announce that our cancelled 2020 National Specialty has been rescheduled to be part of the club’s 2021 National Specialty weekend in Lexington, Kentucky, September 2-6, 2021.  What’s exciting about this news is there will be more chances for conformation points and possible major wins as well as both the 2020 and 2021 National Specialties.  By rescheduling to the weekend of our 2021 National, members will not have the expenses of traveling to two Nationals in the same year.

Like many of us throughout this country, we hope and expect that medicines will have dealt with the current Covid-19 pandemic well before the 2021 National Specialty weekend.

This change was made possible by the just-announced temporary rule change by AKC which will allow parent clubs who have cancelled their 2020 National Specialties to hold two such Specialties in 2021.  The club’s Board of Directors immediately addressed this issue and passed the following motion:

“I, Sherry Gibson, make a motion that In accordance with AKC’s special rule allowing parent clubs who have cancelled their 2020 National to hold two specialties in 2021,   the Board approves rescheduling the 2020 National to be held during the week of September 1-6, 2021 in Lexington, KY, in conjunction with the PCA 2021 National Specialty.”

The Puli Club of America thanks the All-Breed clubs hosting the Bluegrass Classic Dog Shows for allowing us to expand our presence at their cluster.

The Bluegrass Classic shows are special, but our club can rarely schedule our National there because that cluster usually takes place in August.  Our Bylaws require Nationals be in September or October.  But in 2021, this cluster takes place in September, and PCA has jumped at the chance to be there.

The 2021 National Specialty Show Chair, Anne Kemp, and Patty Anspach, co-Show Chair of our originally-planned 2020 National, will work together to make this a “doubly” wonderful weekend with two National Specialties.

We are really excited about these new plans.  We are hoping for a great turnout, lots of entries and lots of fun!
